EDUCATION

I believe that all of our children are gifts and need to be offered the best education possible. We need to ensure that all students learn to read, write, and learn math and social skills necessary to be successful. But our district scores are in the 50-60% rate for post high school readiness. We can do better for our students by tackling the “why” to these lower scores.

We also want to continue to offer STEM and Career & Technical Education as these equip many students with tools they need to grow. Every child deserves to be able to learn- so we need to make sure they all have what they need.

Maintaining classroom discipline is also critical for students to achieve success and teachers to be able to educate appropriately. I want to find the best resources for our teachers, parents, and students so that our children’s education will not be disrupted.

PARENTS

Parental involvement is most often critical for student success. Parent’s should not be sidelined in their children’s education. Transparency in communication between parents and the school district has eroded. Parents are the ones who have ultimate responsibility for their child and should not be shut out in any way in their child’s education. In addition to open dialogue with the schools, assisting children with their assignments, minimizing screen time and social media contact, and utilizing platforms like Parent Square are all means to achieving better students.

FAIRNESS

Public schools have become areas for culture clashes. These have become distractions to learning. Let’s put politics aside, make provisions for each student’s values, practice and beliefs without hindering the educational process.

My name is Tim Rovik. I am running for North Kitsap School Board Director, Position 3.

I am ready to lead:

  • Getting Back to the Basics

  • Fair Treatment for All Students

  • More Parental Involvement

  • Community Support in Education

We raised four children in the North Kitsap School District 20 years ago and currently have four grandchildren attending this school district. Wanting them to become successful in life has made me passionate about their educational experience. I want to advocate for all North Kitsap School District children to be the best they can be and to bring our education back to the basics. Building our future generations is what brings me passion. I will be a voice for our teachers, I will be a voice for our children’s education and I will be a voice for our parents involvement in their children’s lives.

Public education is important. It needs to provide opportunities for all North Kitsap children to achieve their full potential.

I would sincerely appreciate your vote on or before November 4th, 2025.
